St. George Island State Park offers miles of undeveloped white sand beach. This barrier island off the Florida panhandle is accessible by automobile via a 4 mile long bridge across Apalachicola Bay. Picnic areas and campsites available by reservation.

This is my hometown beach! Miles of clean white sand and calm waters. Can be crowded near the main parking areas and big hotels, but less so if you’re willing to walk a bit. Afternoon thunderstorms are common during the summer, but they pass quickly.
